About: Titilope Sonuga

Titilope Sonuga is a Nigerian born spoken word poet based in Edmonton, AB, Canada. She is the winner of the 2012 Maya Mangelou Poetry Contest and the 2011 Canadian Authors Association Emerging Writer Award. She is the creator of Rouge Poetry, Edmonton’s only Poetry Slam Series and the founder of the Breath In Poetry Collective. She is an aspiring Bikram Yogi, a Civil Engineer by day, poet by night with a mean shoe collection and a vintage shopping addiction. She writes about living, loving, everything in between and the journey into being unapologetically herself.
