Going Out – Shakka and Speech Debelle @ Tate Britain

November 22nd, 2012 by

Make sure you catch recent MTV Brand New Unsigned shortlister Shakka at the Tate Britain on Nov 24 alongside Mercury Prize winner Speech Debelle. LABEL is curated by Tate Collective as part of the Great British Art Debate and will include live acoustic performances with Q+A sessions + DJs, installations and workshops all for free. We’re particularly hyped about seeing Shakka perform after seeing/hearing new single Sooner or Later. His collection of the Shakkapellas that made him the great hope of Alternative R&B are now available to download for free to provide that Winter tonic while waiting for his debut album. Highlights include the pairing of The Streets Blinded by the Lights and James Blake’s Limit to Your Love, in track Limit to the Blinding Lights, his amalgamation of SBTRKT’S Hold on and Kanye’s I Can’t Stop, his cover of Beyonce’s End of Time, Frank Ocean’s Thinkin’ About You and his collaboration with Vula (Basement Jaxx/DivaGeek) in mixing Gotye’s Somebody I Used to Know and Usher’s Diplo produced track Climax.
